JAMES H. ERNST, CPA, MS-Tax, CCAM
James Ernst was licensed by the California Board of Accountancy in 1980 as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and has been working in the area of accounting, taxes and consulting ever since. He has a Master's Degree in Taxation (MS-Tax) from Golden Gate University and a Bachelor's degree in Business/Accounting from CSU Long Beach.
In order to stay on the leading edge of new tax laws and accounting rules, he regularly attends educational seminars and workshops. In addition, Jim is a frequent speaker in the areas of tax and business services for individuals and businesses as well as accounting and tax related issues for Homeowners' Associations.
Jim also is a Certified Community Association Manager (CCAM), and has participated with the Forensic Expert Witness Association (FEWA).
DONNA L. SMITH, EA - Tax Manager
Donna is a licensed Enrolled Agent (EA) and specializes in individual and small business taxes. She is the Manager in our Tax Department and is our primary contact for tax issues. Donna has been working with James Ernst Accounting since 1998 and has worked in the tax area since 1985. She continues to increase her skills and abilities by actively participating in education and training courses.
DIANE HART - JEA Bookkeeper/Tax Assistant
Diane has returned to the firm full time, after having some time away to work and develop her skills in other avenues of the accounting field. She is the bookkeeper for James Ernst Accounting, as well as assisting Donna and Jim in Tax Preparation.

MICHELLE VOGE - Director of Financial Services
Michelle came to JEA in March 2009, while attending Sonoma State Univerisity. She has since graduated with a BS in Accounting. Michelle has worked in our HOA bookkeeping department for ten years.
She is the primary contact for our clients, and she provides guidance and training for the other members of the HOA bookkeeping department.
